Happy New Year! When I’m not writing, I’m usually reading. Like many of you, I spent much of 2020, quietly quarantined, close to home. You can still find me curled up in a corner of our home, most afternoons. Fortunately, our Mid-Columbia Library system is vast and does not limit the amount of books one can check out. Last March, before libraries closed, I visited my local branch to pick up a number of new releases and added them to the pile already in the “Library Corner” of our house, aka the guest room closet.
When the branches reopened in September for curbside returns and pickups, here’s what I returned, requiring three round trips from car to the Return slot! Choosing from my recent reads, I’ll be recommending one each week. Let’s start the conversation with Mr. Sedaris, whose wit and style got me through some heavy days last year.
